Finding Light

During this rain-sogging afternoon, you bend

Over a kitchen counter, barely fitting your height in this kitchen,

And I am enraptured by the way the back of your head

Looks like a little boy’s. Even after all these years, it’s rare

For me to see the tiny, blond hairs that cluster and grow.
